Mudra [mu ː ‘drɑ ː] (Sanskrit: मुद्रा, meaning: “symbol” or “seal”) is the gesture or posture that is symbolic or ritual in Hinduism and Buddhism. There are several Mudra involving all members of the body, but most often only done by hand and fingers. Mudra is a gesture of spiritual and energy and authenticity markers in the iconography and spiritual practice in the religious traditions of Dharma and Taoism.
